Therapy Across State Lines: Empowering Your Care with Dr. Murray
You can now access care with Dr. Murray from almost anywhere in the United States.
Through a groundbreaking interstate compact known as PSYPACT, I am able to provide seamless, evidence-based virtual therapy across state lines. If you travel frequently, split your time between states, or struggle to find the right specialist in your local area, PSYPACT removes the traditional geographic barriers to your wellness.
Dr. Murray offers confidential, secure, and fully licensed telepsychology services to individuals and families across more than 40 participating states. Below, you will find everything you need to know about how this framework protects you, where we can connect, and how it revolutionizes the way families experience therapy together.
Map of Eligible States ?
I am legally authorized to provide virtual care to individuals and families physically located in any PSYPACT state. Please review the map below to confirm your state is included in my network.
What is PSYPACT and How Does It Benefit You?
Traditionally, psychologists could only provide therapy to clients physically located within the state where the psychologist held a state license. If a client traveled for work, moved for college, or lived in a remote area, their options for consistent care were severely limited.
PSYPACT is an interstate agreement designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology across state boundaries. Created by the Association of State and Provincial Psychology Boards (ASPPB), it allows highly qualified psychologists to obtain an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT). As a credentialed PSYPACT provider, I have undergone extensive, independent vetting to ensure my practice meets the highest national standards for cross-state care.
Core Advantages of Working with Dr. Murray via PSYPACT:
True Continuity
Maintain your regular therapy sessions with me even when traveling for business or vacationing out of state.
Specialized Matching
Connect directly with my practice based on my clinical expertise, completely bypassing local zip code limitations.
College Transitions
Support young adults moving away to universities in participating states without the stress of switching to a new provider.
Rigorous Standards
Rest easy knowing your care aligns with strict, federally recognized safety and privacy benchmarks.
A Game-Changer for Modern Family Therapy
One of the most powerful advantages of my PSYPACT authorization is how it transforms family and couples therapy. In our modern, interconnected world, families do not always live under the same roof—or even in the same state.
If you have a child away at college, a partner traveling frequently for work, or adult family members living across different regions of the country, geographic distance no longer keeps you from healing together.
How We Bring Families Together:
As long as each participating family member is physically located in a PSYPACT-approved state during our session, we can legally and effectively work together as a group.
Shared Virtual Space
I can host unified family sessions where multiple family members log in simultaneously from completely different states.
Consistent Mediation
Keep every stakeholder involved in the therapeutic process without anyone needing to travel for appointments.
Blended Care
Safely navigate major life transitions, resolve long-distance relationship friction, or coordinate care for aging parents as a cohesive unit.
Safety, Privacy, and Technology Standards
Your emotional safety and digital privacy are my highest clinical priorities. I strictly adhere to the operational guidelines set forth by the PSYPACT Commission.
Secured Encryption
My video platform uses bank-grade, end-to-end encryption protocols to secure our video feeds.
Emergency Protocols
Before we begin care, we will establish a localized crisis safety plan tailored specifically to your local community.
Verifiable Vetting
You can look up and confirm my official credential status at any time directly through the PSYPACT Directory.

How does telehealth across state lines actually work?
I utilize a HIPAA-compliant, highly secure video platform for all clinical interactions. At the start of every session, you simply verify your current physical location. As long as you are standing in an authorized state, we can proceed seamlessly.
Are the privacy regulations different when practicing across state lines?
No. Your privacy is protected by the highest federal standards under HIPAA. Additionally, as a PSYPACT practitioner, I am legally bound to follow the rules and regulations of both my home state and the state where you are physically located during our session.
What happens if I travel to a state that is not part of PSYPACT?
If you travel to a non-participating state, I cannot legally conduct a therapy session while you are there. We will simply pause our sessions until you return to an authorized jurisdiction or coordinate appropriate local support if an urgent clinical need arises.
What’s the first step to getting started?
